Our Story

In the spring of 2000, UW graduates Dwayne and Jessica Bishop branched out from a nationally owned organization and formed the locally recognized Student Painters.net. Since acquiring local ownership the Northwest operations have grown tremendously, grossing over $2.3 million in 2007. In 2008, CEO Jessica Bishop was chosen by the Puget Sound Business Journal as a 40 under Forty honoree.

Student Painters is founded on the belief that universities hold a unique resource; a small pool of future business and community leaders that are ready to do great things if only they can be provided with the skills and knowledge necessary to do so. Your Student Manager has been carefully selected for responsibility, drive, and passion for business from a pool of thousands of interested students. Their challenge is to utilize the Student Painters system that has been developed over the last 30 years and implemented by hundreds of students, to develop their exclusive branch into a successful, professional business.

Student Painters provides all Student Managers with extensive training and support. Our students are not franchise owners but direct representatives of StudentPainters.net, limiting their risk. Our insurance and worker's compensation cover all of our students and their crews. All employees are required to complete a practical safety training course before beginning their summer. To further ensure that our high quality standards are being exceeded, we have a group of Quality Control Supervisors who spend their summer assisting Student Managers and inspecting jobsites. In 2006, Student Painters was rated the Top House Painter in Seattle by Seattle Magazine
